The injustices in Myanmar have been shadowed by the War in Iraq. I am not aware of anywhere else in the world where genocide is practiced in the open. I am very glad the the Buddhist monks organized this very successful protest.

More about the protest here
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7011607.stm

More about the persecution of the Karen people here
http://karenpeople.org/

Thats all for now folks!

Day One - September 6th, 2007

What is a Blog?

I have been following the Blogging phenomenon for quite some time now since I read about it in INC Magazine (http://www.inc.com/) in late 2005. My recent jump into this web 2.0 anomaly was strongly suggested by two of my peers within the last week and I have decided to give it a try and blog regularly.

The first of my contacts to suggest blogging has created a blog as his thesis project for his masters degree from Concordia University. You can read more about him at http://www.spencerpost.blogspot.com/

The second although much more influential advice that I received from Todd Anderson of 1000 Foot View (http://www.10000footview.com/) suggested I create a blog because he thought the E-mails I was sending had potential to create a blog and strong readership. You can learn more about Todd and 10000 Foot View at http://www.toddjanderson.typepad.com/

Current Events:

As for what is going on in my life right now.... It can all be summarized in a single word "Transition." I am about to purchase my first home near the University of St. Thomas. We expect closing to occur at the end of this month. My home is an older home located between downtown Minneapolis and Downtown St. Paul. I will tell you more about my choice and strategy of home ownership after closing.

Secondly, Eschelon Telecom my generous and wonderful employer has been purchased by it's most fierce competitor at $30 per share. The question ever since closing has been "Who sold my cheese for $30 per share?" My future with Eschelon Telecom appears to be bleak at this point with most of our corporate job functions being sourced from a centralised business model into a de-centralised business model. Meaning a massive reduction of resources within Minnesota and an increase of resources everywhere else. In other words Rome is falling again. . . I should know more about my future on Sep. 14th....

Due to the uncertainty of my future I have been searching for a new position within a variety of industries and companies. I have sent my resume out to the following organizations for consideration.

1. University of St. Thomas
2. Analysts International
2. ESP.com
3. US Bank
4. Wells Fargo
5. Target
6. Many of the Top INC 5000
7. Many more...

The positions that I am most interested in at this time are the following:

1. Recruiter or assistant Recruiter
2. Procurement Analyst / Buyer
3. Financial Analyst Intern
4. Coordinator Positions

To discover more about me please visit http://www.JamesBellefeuille.com/

Until next time - Auf Wiedersehen

-James
